Narrative
Joy. Many of us spend our whole lives chasing it and never quite finding it. Some of us find Joy in the smaller things, and others find Joy in others. No two people are precisely the same, and one person's Joy is another person's pain. This piece will explore a guttural joy. A joy that only comes at the expense of another. This might seem vindictive, but many of us stay in painful situations when cutting out the toxic parts of our existence is precisely what we need to feel a sense of Joy again. Meanwhile, in some cases, cutting out the toxic is an excuse not to work on your own issues, to find a scapegoat. We see this in so many different national and international situations, where if we had just solved the underlying problem, we could have solved the most significant issues in the world and found more Joy.
